A lecture on “English Speaking Skills for Engineering Students” was organized on 15th May 2018 in the SET Seminar Hall from 3:00 to 4:30 pm by Bishnu Gogoi, Assistant Professor of English-SET & Rajib Saha, Language Lab Supervisor-SET in collaboration with Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma, the Dean of SET, KU.

The prime speaker for the event was Dr. Sanjib Sahoo, Associate Professor from the Department of English and Foreign Languages, Tezpur University. He stressed upon the English Speaking Skills for Engineering students more so in the rapidly shifting panorama of verbal and written communication and the developing technologies in this field. He specially highlighted on the need to keep upbeat about the complexities and usages of rapidly changing features and usages of English communicative grammar and spoken skills which would be a real necessity for the students to face the tough job-market and also for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr Tarun Kumar, the Registrar; Dr Ashwini Kr Sharma, Dean-SET; Dr Sudip Basack, HoD-Civil Engineering; Dr Jyoti Prasad Gogoi, Assistant Professor-Physics; Mr Pranabjyoti Lahon, HoD (i/c)- Electrical Engineering and a cluster of 60 plus B.Tech 2nd semester students.

It is a matter of significance and pride for us that the speaker expressed his happiness with the various queries from the students and towards the session as a whole. We thank the congregation for the zeal shown.
